Biggin Hill Airport is one of the closest commercial airports to the centre of London. The site is steeped in history and was for most of the early to mid 20th Century a busy Royal Air Force station. In 1940 many of the brave pilots of the Battle of Britain flew from this airport. In the following decades the airport developed from a military facility to a commercial and executive airport that now receives a large amount of traffic throughout the year.
